try one card

ask anyone who passed: write the formulas from memory.

it's the most repeated advice on r/CFA and the final-week move in every "how I passed" video. here it's the daily default: the formula appears with its terms missing, and you type them back. no option list to lean on — recognition isn't recall.

stuck? a hint costs you the point: any assisted gap grades as Forgot, so your mastered pile is never inflated. one real card. no signup.

the final stretch gets its own surface.

scope a sweep to exactly what scares you — Ethics plus Derivatives, 528 cards, on a clock. the summary is a receipt: what you swept, what stuck first try, which card is still fighting you, and how far coverage moved.

coverage, not streaks. cram sessions never touch your review schedule.

flashcards that don't flatter you.

self-graded flashcards take your word for "remembered." here, formulas are typed and graded, hints have a price, and every card's back names the exact slip candidates actually make.

help has a price tag

every gap opens with a free category cue. first letters cost. the full answer costs more — and any assisted pass grades as Forgot. typed a right answer the grader misread? appeal it: counted correct, marked so you know.

category cue “a premium”free

an assisted pass suggests Forgot — the mastered pile stays honest.

weighted like the exam

Ethics gets 312 cards because it's 15–20% of the exam and the section candidates blame failures on. Derivatives gets 216 because its pain outruns its 5–8% weight. no filler decks, no orphan topics.

the traps are the content

distractors come from documented candidate errors, and the card's back explains the slip — not just the right answer. get it wrong the way people actually get it wrong, and learn why.

E(Rᵢ) = RF + βᵢ × expected market return

E(Rᵢ) = RF + βᵢ × market risk premium

the back names the slip: using E(Rm) without netting off RF overstates the required return by the whole risk-free rate.

coverage, not vibes

per-area coverage tells you what percent of each topic you've actually touched — so "am I ready for Fixed Income" has a number, and the areas you've been avoiding are impossible to miss.

asked, answered.

are you affiliated with CFA Institute?

No. CuePrep is independent — we're not a CFA Institute Prep Provider, and CFA Institute doesn't endorse or approve us. Every card is written by us from scratch: we never reproduce CFA Institute curriculum, learning outcome statements, or exam content. CFA® and Chartered Financial Analyst® are registered trademarks owned by CFA Institute.

is this a full prep course?

No — and we're not pretending to be. Keep your main study provider for learning the material. CuePrep is the retention layer on top: the thing that makes what you studied in March still be there in November.

how is this different from the flashcard apps I already use?

Most flashcard tools ask whether you remembered and take your word for it. CuePrep checks: formulas are typed and graded, multi-blank cases force a pick per rule, sequences force an order. Hints cost, assisted passes grade as Forgot, and the 2,400 cards come pre-built — you spend your 300 hours studying, not authoring decks.

do you have mock exams?

No. We're the memorization layer — use CFA Institute's mocks (two come with registration) or your provider's for endurance training, and use us so the formulas and rules are actually there when you sit them.

the exam is all multiple choice — why aren't your cards?

Because multiple choice hands you the answer. Retrieval — pulling it out of memory unaided — is what makes it stay. Train recall here, and recognition on exam day is the easy direction.

what do I get when I sign up today?

A seat. CFA Level 1 is in the works — 2,400 cards across all ten topic areas — and it opens to early sign-ups first. Pick your exam window and we'll pace everything to it. Signing up is free; pricing lands with the launch, and early sign-ups hear first.

which curriculum year do you cover?

Our card bank is built and maintained against what current Level 1 windows test, on our own topic structure — all ten subject areas, updated each cycle. (For reference: CFA Institute made zero Level 1 curriculum changes from 2025 to 2026.)

your window is fixed. your recall isn't.
